The
Transgenic Animal
Core develops genetically engineered animals for investigators to study
the roles of specific genes in aging, nutrition, or age-related diseases.
Core services include the following:
- Produce transgenic founder mice
and rats by microinjection of one-cell embryos
- Preserve transgenic/knock mouse
lines by embryo, sperm, and ovary
- Provide training in the genetic manipulation
of mice
- Implement new technologies for
generating genetically engineered rodent models
